In the dark times, there will be singing
A prime minister, a journalist and a pacifist stand on stage with one shared mission: peace. But can we still speak of peace if you have to fight for it? Orcater collective KONVOOI asks this question in a contemporary theatre album: Peace for our time.
Peace for our time is a musical journey through the history of European peace. It centres on the questions of conscience of three figures who chose peace, but also made a mistake in doing so. Former British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, shaking hands with Hitler, uttering the famous words 'I believe it is peace for our time' . Émile Arnaud, one of the founding fathers of pacifism, volunteering to join the army in World War I. Andrii Kobaliya, a young journalist who trades in his pen for a kalashnikov after the Russians invade Ukraine.
After their successful performances The Master and Margarita and ILIAS, KONVOOI will present Peace for our time as a theatrical concert. In the spirit of Neville, Émile and Andrii will stand for peace one more time with their own set of battle songs - ranging from classical and jazz to poppy protest songs - by singing its praises.
